Organizing....

Are you an organized person? I try to be, I have good intentions. I love looking at sites that tell you how to organize and what to organize with. I also love to see how people put their own skills to use in organizing their own home. Katy at http://countryblossom.blogspot.com/ has been so nice to share her method of organizing her home, schooling, and family affairs. That she inspired me to do the same...

It's not a perfect system, and is always a work in progress, but it keeps me on track with cleaning my home and saves me money by planning my meals a week or two at a time. I have one for a cleaning routine, one for bill paying, one for menu planning and one I keep in my bus for any notes I need to write about the day, and to keep track of days that I sub at the school. Planning and being organized makes me feel good about me and what I am doing to make things run smoother in my home, saves time, and money. Thank you to *Katy* for inspiring me to do it and Flylady also for all your help in organizing my daily chores. My home is not perfect, nor am I. But I stive to be the best wife and homemaker I can be, and with God's help and help from my *friends* I get a little better at it each day.

Hoping that everyone has a Blessed rest of the week and a Wonderful weekend!!

What I did today...

Well the tree is down and packed away for another year. My DH commented that he was sad it was over, I am too... I do however still have my "Winter" stuff out, snowmen, some pine, and ***snowflakes***... I have cleaned the kitchen, dining room, living room and den today. Made a trip to Sam's, very busy.

Made White Enchiladas for dinner and for dessert had Ginger bread with lemon sauce. My DH went out tonight and played music with buddies, and I spent the evening with Julie & Julia, have you seen this movie? I adore it, could not be cuter...If you have seen it, have you ever thought of doing a challenge like that yourself? I think it would be fun, I have some cookbooks that I would love to cook my way through... Just a thought.

Off to church in the morning if the weather cooperates... and then football in the afternoon, I am praying that the Colts make it to the Superbowl!!

I hope everyone has a blessed, warm night and rest of the weekend..

Winter

Winter time is here... Snow is everywhere...

The Holidays are over and everyone is taking down the decorations... I just can't bring myself to do the same yet. I love my Christmas decorations, yes I also love the simplicity of after the holidays are over and taking down the tree to reveal a simpler look, but for some reason this year is different. My family is scattered this year and we weren't all together for the holidays, maybe that something to do with it... I'll take it down sometime soon... at least before spring... here are a few pictures I took tonight of my "winter" look... I hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I do

I made both of the stitches last year... I think they are both Homeberries patterns.
Thank you for stopping by, from my home, to yours,

Have a Very Blessed New Year!

A new KID....

Well the holidays are behind us now, and just when you think that the magic of the holiday has left.... NEW LIFE arrives in the form of a beautiful baby.... goat, yes I said goat.....But will be calling her, Bella.... A wonderful gift from God, to me... Thank you, Lord!!! Just what I wanted a girl!!!
My little Bella had a twin that didn't make it, and I am very saddened by this, but very humbled with the gift that was given to me....Welcome to the world Bella!!
Now on to other things....while reading Blogs today i have noticed that alot of you are putting away and packing up the tree.... not me, I think I will be leaving mine out a little longer this year, it just looks so nice this year and I love the glow it gives off in the evening, making the living room look so warm and inviting. I love the glow of a Christmas tree, don't you?
On Christmas eve my DH and I made sugar cookies and decorated them together.... this was the first year he has helped... willingly ...the cooled cookies awaiting icing...

My DH creations.....
And mine....
We had a lot of fun doing this together, and we might just give it a whirl again next year...We made gifts this year for my 2 sister in laws, my DH's sisters. I did the stitch and DH made the frames.... I think we make a pretty good team in the crafting area... Thank you DH for all your help....I think I might have some ideas for next Christmas already, we will see.
Well I better get off the computer and go finish my laundry. Hope everyone has a wonderful evening

Early Christmas gift

It started snowing Friday nite, and I got in the "snack mood" so I made Chex mix, Homemade cracker jacks, a recipe I got from... http://www.mommyskitchen.net/2009/08/homemade-cracker-jack-popcorn.html and Brownies.... after that we went to my In Laws to play Rook, its a card game... we had a great time. It snowed all day Saturday, and we spent the day lying around, not doing much of anything... on to Sunday, we stayed home from church, most of the churches in our area cancelled, ours did not but it is 20 minutes from our home and we decided that since the temp was below freezing, that we had better stay in... so we decided to make each other feel better by gifting one gift to each other, an early Christmas gift.... i got a Wii......
and I got my DH a video making program that he wanted....

All in all you could say we were both pretty happy.... after watching some football, we played Wii till we were sore... but we had a great bonding time together, and don't we all need to bond with our spouses while laughing...my parents will be here Sunday after Christmas and I can not wait to see them play!! I'll take pictures of that.... well hope everyone has a great day... God Bless!!
